Como as coisas são. (How things are.)

Existem incontáveis fóruns, comunidades e blogs dedicados a discursão do ninjustsu, sejam eles de propriedade de membros da Bujinkan, da Genbukan, da Ginenkan ou por pessoas independentes de qualquer organização. Tais meios de comunicação servem de apoio para buscadores de todo o mundo e permitem acesso aos tesouros pessoais de cada praticante que neles compartilham sua experiência .

Pratico e convivo com o sitema da Bujinkan há 9 anos e fui agraciado com a experiência de treinar com alguns de seus melhores professores. Na busca desse caminho tenho a todos esses mestres a agradecer por compartilharem do fruto de seu sacrifício. Busco em seus exemplos a força para cada novo passo.

O Ninpo é algo muito além dos movimentos marciais e este blog é dedicado a este algo além. Cada exemplo que me foi dado fortalece esse ponto e o de que praticamos essa arte para sobreviver independente do meio ou técnica usada. Praticamos para o mundo de Jissen (luta real). Se abstrair de tal avaliação é perigoso, pelo menos assim aprendi com aqueles que me ensinaram ao longo do caminho. Como já dizia Takamatsu, os poderes ocultos se encontram em nossa sinceridade. É justamente esta sinceridade que abre o Gokui (segredo) do Ninpo e os vários conhecimentos que este segredo revela. Foi nesse espírito de compartilhar as próprias vivências que os makimono e densho (rolos e pergaminhos) das várias ryu-ha (escolas) foram escritos.

Em honra ao exemplo dos meus mestres e ao próprio espírito do homem os temas serão abordados de forma direta. Serão relatos de minha experiência pessoal que ofereço como base de reflexão e como uma forma de agradecer a gentileza que por mim foi feita por todos que até aqui me guiaram. Aqueles dedicados a prática do Ninjutsu compreenderão que nada está além do mérito da investigação, e que ninguém é testemunha única e completa de uma tradição. Com isto em mente, a rigidez só promove a incapacidade, e a única coisa inalterada na vida é a própria vida em constante transformação. Um budoka que não compreende Henka (variação) é tão inútil quanto uma estátua.

Não busco adimiradores nem críticos, apenas quero honrar a tradição e os mestres. Aos iniciantes espero que minhas dúvidas e erros possam lhes auxiliar em serem melhores aprendizes. Aos caminhantes, independente de filiação, espero que minhas reflexões somem às suas próprias e que somem isto tudo a tudo que fizerem e a todos que encontrarem.

There are countless forums, comunities and blogs dedicated to the discussion of ninjutsu, whether they be owened by members of the Bujinkan, Genbukan, Jinenkan or by individuals with no affiliation to any organization. Such means of comunication serve as support for seekers world-wide and allow access to the personal treasures of each practitioner who shares his experience on them.

I've been practicing and living with the system of the Bujinkan for 9 years and I have been blessed with the experience of training with some of it's best teachers. In my search of this path I have all these masters to thank for sharing the fruit of their sacrifice. I seek in their example strenth for each new step.

Ninpo is something way beyond martial movement, and this blog is dedicated to this something beyond. Each example that was given to me strengthens this point and the point that we practice this art to survive regardless of the means or technique used. We practice for the world of Jissen (real fighting). To remove oneself from such evaluation is dangerous, at least it was so that I learned from those who taught me along the way. As Takamatsu would say, the real occult powers lie in our sincerity. It is just this sicerity that will open up the Gokui (secret) of Ninpo and all the knowlege this secret unveils. It was in this spirit of sharing one´s own experiences that the makimono and densho of the various ryu-ha (schools) were written.

In honor of the example of my masters and of man´s very spirit the themes will be aproached in a straighforeward fashion. They will be accounts of my personal experience that I offer as subject matter for refletion and as a means of saying thank you to the kindness that was done to me by all that have guided me thus far. Those dedicated to the practice of Ninjutsu understand that nothing is beyond the merit of investigation, and that no one is the only and complete witness of a tradition. With this in mind, rigidness only promotes incapacity, and the only unaltered thing in life is life itself in constant transformation. A bodoka that doesn´t understand Henka (variation) is as useless as a statute.

I seek not fans nor critics, I simply wish to honor the tradition and the masters. To the beginners I hope my doubts and mistakes may help them in being better students. To those on the path, regardless of afiliation, I hope my reflexions may add to your own and that all this may be added to everything you do and everyone you encounter.

Ano do Tigre (Year of the Tiger)

"Após treinar por um bom tempo eu decidi que queria saber mais sobre o ninjutsu e sobre mim mesmo, então fui a uma montanha conhecida como Maya-san na prefeitura de Kobe. Na montanha vivi ao lado de uma cachoeira chamada Kamenotaki por um período de um ano. Eu ficava em um quartinho do tamanho de dois tatamis e me alimentava de feijões sem arroz fervido. Meus parceiros de treino eram as pedras adjacentes. As vezes eu exercitava meus dedos batendo nas pedras. Eu pulava nas pedras com meu Kiai então pulava fora. Durante esse período eu desenvolvi um sentido especial. Por exemplo: eu poderia ficar no topo da montanha e saber quantas pessoas subiam, eu podia dizer se eram homens, mulheres ou outra coisa. Eu fiquei conhecido como o "sennin" ou "tengu" da montanha."

Auto biografia

Cabe a todo discípulo buscar, e ao encontrar, seguir o caminho trilhado pelo mestre a fim de honrá-lo. A única forma de compensar o sacrifício daquele que abriu o caminho é dar -lhe uma companhia para sua sombra. Nem sempre é fácil, mas acredito que encontrar forças para tal feito seja essêncial.

"After training for a long time, I decided I wanted to know more about ninjutsu and myself, so I went to the mountain known as Maya-san in Kobe prefecture. At the mountain I lived besides a waterfall known as Kamenotaki for the period of a year. I would stay in a small room two tatami mats in size and would live on beans with no boiled rice. My training partner were the neighboring stones and rocks. Sometimes I would exercise my fingers hiting stones with them. I would jump on the rocks with my Kiai and leap off. During this time I developed a special sense. For example: I could stay at the top of the mountain and know how many people were climbing it, I could tell if they were men, women or something else. I became known as the "sennin" or "tengu" of the mountain."

Auto biography

It is up to every deciple to search, and upon finding, to follow the path treaded by the master in order to honor him. The only way to pay for the sacrificy of he who paved the way is to give his shadow company. It insn't always easy, but I believe finding the strength for such a feat is essential.
